22. nochd    A borrowing from English naught , meaning something bad or worthless. This is the only example in GPC 2587.

31. Undad ... unfam    In the laws, children born from the same parents, and they have more rights than half–brothers. Gruffudd Gryg is stating that he is not even a half–brother to Dafydd ap Gwilym.

34. Aberffraw    One of the chief courts of the princes of Gwynedd, and a bardic region according to Statud Gruffudd ap Cynan.

39. ymladd cyfaddef    A legal term, meaning public fighting, or fighting which cannot be denied. There was a fine of twelve kine (or three pounds) for public fighting according to Welsh law.

42. llysg ongl    It is possible that this is a term from the field of fighting with sticks, meaning something like a crook to catch the opponent, rather than the stick used by datgeiniaid in proclaiming poetry (Gwyn Thomas, DGHP,303). But there is no example of the term in GPC.
